What did Google’s Panda and Penguin Algorithms accomplish?
Because of recent Google updates in the form of algorithms called “Panda” and “Penguin,” an Internet website needs its optimization “firing on all cylinders” in order to “rank” in the search engine results.
Google created the “Panda” algorithm to sort through the content of Internet websites in such a way as to require that content to be more relevant to the end-user who is conducting the Internet search.
Many websites that used to appear high in search engine result rankings didn’t achieve their high rankings by utilizing relevant content but, instead, by the use of “spammy links” linking to their sites.
Then Google rolled out the “Penguin” algorithm, which was used to eliminate those websites that were ranking because of spammy links and only spammy links.
